Sea Organ — An architectural sound art installation of 35 pipes built into marble steps on the waterfront. The Adriatic waves push air through the pipes, creating hauntingly beautiful music.

Greeting to the Sun — A 22-metre circle of 300 glass plates with solar cells embedded in the waterfront beside the Sea Organ. At night it creates a mesmerising light display powered by the sun.

Roman Forum — The largest Roman forum on the eastern Adriatic coast, dating from the 1st century BC to the 3rd century AD. The ancient column known as the 'Pillar of Shame' still stands.

Church of St. Donatus — Zadar's most iconic landmark, a cylindrical pre-Romanesque church built on the Roman Forum. Its remarkable acoustics make it a venue for the Musical Evenings in St. Donatus festival.

Cathedral of St. Anastasia — The largest cathedral in Dalmatia with a Romanesque facade and a bell tower you can climb for panoramic views over the old town rooftops and the Adriatic.

Local Food

Grilled Adriatic Fish — Freshly caught sea bass, sea bream, or John Dory grilled with olive oil, garlic, and herbs. Simply prepared and incredibly flavourful, served at konobas (taverns) across the city.

Pašticada — A slow-cooked Dalmatian beef stew marinated in wine and prunes, served with homemade gnocchi. Rich and tender, it takes two days to prepare properly.

Burek — Flaky phyllo pastry spirals filled with cheese, meat, or spinach — a beloved Balkan staple found in every bakery and perfect for a quick, affordable breakfast.

Paški Sir — A famous hard sheep's cheese from the nearby island of Pag, with a distinctive salty flavour from the herbs the sheep graze on. Often served with olives.
