Encontro dos Rios — The dramatic confluence of two rivers — the brown Parnaíba and the green Poti — creates a visible colour divide. Best viewed from the lookout point or by boat.

Parque da Cidade — A sprawling park with jogging trails, lakes, playgrounds, and native vegetation. The Museu da Cidade inside documents Teresina's history and culture.

Ponte Estaiada João Isidoro França — Teresina's modern landmark, this 117-metre-tall cable-stayed bridge is spectacularly lit at night and has become the city's most recognizable symbol.

Palácio de Karnak — An elegant early-20th-century palace surrounded by gardens with sculptures and fountains. Guided tours explore the ornate halls and Piauí political history.

Igreja de São Benedito — One of Teresina's oldest churches with a striking blue-and-white facade. A hub of local religious life and an important piece of the city's colonial heritage.

Local Food

Carne de Sol com Pirão — Sun-dried beef served with pirão (a thick cassava-flour broth), rice, and feijão verde. The signature comfort food of the Piauí sertão.

Paçoca de Carne de Sol — Pounded sun-dried beef mixed with toasted cassava flour, creating a savoury crumble. A unique Northeastern speciality often served as a side or snack.

Maria Isabel — A one-pot rice dish cooked with carne de sol and seasoned with onions and spices. Named after a local folk character, it's Piauí's signature rice dish.

Cajuína — A clarified cashew juice unique to Piauí, golden and naturally sweet, sealed in glass bottles and cooked in a wood-fired oven. An important cultural symbol.
