Leaning Tower of Pisa — The 56-metre bell tower began leaning during construction in 1173 and now tilts 3.97 degrees. Climb the 294 spiralling steps for dizzying views. Book timed tickets in advance.

Pici Cacio e Pepe — Thick, hand-rolled Tuscan pasta with pecorino cheese and black pepper. The Pisan version uses local pecorino and is richer than the Roman original.
