La Seu Cathedral — A magnificent Gothic cathedral begun in 1229, with one of the world's largest rose windows and interior modifications by Gaudí and Miquel Barceló. The waterfront setting is breathtaking.

Royal Palace of La Almudaina — A fortified palace opposite the cathedral, originally a Moorish alcázar converted into a royal residence. Still used by the Spanish royal family for official Mallorcan ceremonies.

Bellver Castle — A unique 14th-century circular castle perched on a hilltop 3 km west of the city with panoramic views over the bay, the city, and the Tramuntana mountains.

Old Town (Casc Antic) — A maze of narrow medieval streets with aristocratic mansions, hidden courtyards (peek through the doorways), baroque churches, and leafy plazas with cafe terraces.

Local Food

Pa amb Oli — Mallorca's simplest and most beloved dish: rustic bread rubbed with ripe tomato and drizzled with local olive oil, topped with Serrano ham, cheese, or sobrassada.

Ensaïmada — A coiled pastry of lard-enriched dough, light as air, dusted with powdered sugar. Eaten plain for breakfast or filled with cream, pumpkin jam (cabell d'àngel), or sobrassada.

Sobrassada — A spreadable cured sausage made from pork and paprika, unique to the Balearic Islands. Spread on bread, baked with honey, or served with local cheese.
