Basilica di San Simplicio — An austere 11th-century granite basilica built by the Pisans, housing Roman-era sarcophagi and standing as a testament to Olbia's ancient importance.

Corso Umberto I — Olbia's lively main street lined with boutiques, cafes, and gelaterias. The social heart of the city, perfect for an evening passeggiata.

Porto Istana Beach — Three crescents of white sand with impossibly clear water, looking directly at the dramatic limestone island of Tavolara. One of Sardinia's finest beaches.

Isola di Tavolara — A towering limestone island rising 560 metres from the sea, reachable by boat from Porto San Paolo. Excellent snorkelling, diving, and a tiny beach settlement.

Nuraghe Riu Mulinu — One of thousands of mysterious Bronze Age stone towers unique to Sardinia, this well-preserved nuraghe sits just outside Olbia and offers a free glimpse into 3,500 years of history.

Local Food

Malloreddus alla Campidanese — Sardinian gnocchetti (small ridged pasta) in a rich sausage, tomato, and saffron ragù, topped with aged pecorino. The island's signature pasta dish.

Porceddu — Whole suckling pig slow-roasted over aromatic myrtle wood. Crispy skin, tender meat — the centrepiece of every Sardinian celebration.

Fregola con Arselle — Toasted semolina pearls cooked with fresh clams in a garlicky, slightly spicy tomato broth. A uniquely Sardinian coastal comfort dish.
