Denarau Island — A purpose-built resort island connected to the mainland by causeway, home to Fiji's largest collection of luxury hotels, an 18-hole golf course, and Port Denarau Marina — the departure point for island cruises.

Sri Siva Subramaniya Temple — A vibrant, colourful Dravidian-style Hindu temple reflecting Fiji's significant Indian population. The ornate gopuram (entrance tower) is covered in detailed carvings of Hindu deities.

Mamanuca Islands — A chain of volcanic islands and coral atolls with white sand beaches, crystal lagoons, and world-class diving. Cloud 9 floating bar, Castaway Island (the movie location), and Modriki Island are highlights.

Garden of the Sleeping Giant — A stunning tropical garden nestled at the base of the Nausori Highlands, home to over 2,000 orchid varieties and lush tropical plantings. Originally the private garden of actor Raymond Burr.

Local Food

Lovo Feast — A traditional Fijian earth-oven feast — meats, fish, and root vegetables wrapped in banana leaves and slow-cooked underground on hot stones. The smoky, tender results are served at resort and village celebrations.

Kokoda (Fijian Ceviche) — Raw fish marinated in citrus juice and coconut cream, mixed with chilli, onion, and tomato. Served in a coconut shell, kokoda is Fiji's most beloved appetiser — fresh, creamy, and zingy.

Curry & Roti — Fiji's large Indian community contributes excellent curries — lamb, fish, and vegetable — served with fresh roti bread. Nadi's Indian restaurants serve some of the best South Indian food outside India.

Cassava & Taro — Staple root crops that form the base of Fijian cuisine. Boiled cassava with coconut cream and taro leaves cooked in lolo (coconut milk) are comforting, filling side dishes at every meal.
