Finikoudes Beach & Promenade — Larnaca's iconic seafront with a sandy Blue Flag beach backed by a palm-tree-lined promenade. Cafes, restaurants, and bars stretch along the waterfront with views across the Mediterranean.

Church of Saint Lazarus — A magnificent stone church built over the tomb of Lazarus, whom Jesus raised from the dead according to the Bible. Features a stunning iconostasis and underground crypt.

Larnaca Salt Lake — A network of salt lakes that host thousands of flamingos from November to March. A stunning sight at sunset, with Hala Sultan Tekke mosque reflected in the pink-tinged waters.

Hala Sultan Tekke — One of the most important Muslim shrines, built around the tomb of Umm Haram, aunt of Prophet Muhammad. Set in beautiful gardens on the shores of the salt lake.

Larnaca Medieval Castle — A 12th-century castle at the south end of Finikoudes Beach, rebuilt by the Ottomans. Houses a small medieval museum with armour, pottery, and artefacts from the region.

Local Food

Meze — A parade of 15-30 small dishes — dips, grilled meats, seafood, salads, and pastries — shared across the table. The ultimate Cypriot dining experience, often lasting two hours.

Halloumi — Cyprus's most famous export: a semi-hard cheese grilled or fried until golden and squeaky. Best eaten fresh from a village producer with watermelon in summer.

Souvlaki & Sheftalia — Charcoal-grilled pork souvlaki wrapped in pitta with salad and tzatziki. Sheftalia are crépinette sausages of minced pork and herbs — Cyprus's favourite fast food.

Taramosalata & Hummus — Creamy fish roe dip (taramosalata) and smooth chickpea hummus, served with warm pitta bread. Essential starters at every Cypriot meal.
