Maspalomas Dunes — A 400-hectare nature reserve of golden sand dunes that look like a miniature Sahara desert. Walk through the dunes to Maspalomas beach and the iconic lighthouse.

Roque Nublo — Gran Canaria's most iconic landmark — an 80-metre basalt rock formation at 1,813m altitude. The short hike to the summit offers breathtaking views across to Tenerife and Mount Teide.

Vegueta (Old Town Las Palmas) — The founding district of Las Palmas with cobblestone streets, the grand Cathedral of Santa Ana, Casa de Colon (Columbus's house), and beautiful Canarian balconied mansions.

Queso de Flor de Guia — A unique semi-soft cheese made with a mix of sheep and cow milk, coagulated with cardoon thistle flowers. Protected by denomination of origin — found only in Gran Canaria.

Sancocho Canario — The island's traditional fish stew made with salted wreckfish (cherne), sweet potato, and gofio (toasted corn flour). A hearty dish typically served for celebrations.

Gofio — A toasted grain flour (corn or wheat) used in everything from soups to desserts. Try gofio escaldado (kneaded with fish broth) or gofio mousse for a unique Canarian flavour.
