Manzana Jesu\u00edtica — A UNESCO World Heritage Site comprising the 17th-century Jesuit church, university (the oldest in Argentina, founded 1613), Colegio Nacional, and the residence. Stunning colonial architecture.

Iglesia de la Compa\u00f1\u00eda de Jes\u00fas — The centrepiece of the Manzana Jesu\u00edtica, this 17th-century Jesuit church has a remarkable timber ceiling modelled on the hull of a ship, with elaborate baroque carvings.

La Ca\u00f1ada — A tree-lined stone canal that runs through the city centre, flanked by walking paths, bridges, restaurants, and parks. Beautifully lit at night.

Nueva C\u00f3rdoba — The heart of student life with caf\u00e9s, craft beer bars, live music venues, boutiques, and a youthful energy. The best nightlife in C\u00f3rdoba is concentrated here.

Catedral de C\u00f3rdoba — An imposing 18th-century cathedral blending baroque, neoclassical, and Romanesque styles, overlooking the main plaza. The cupola was painted by Emilio Caraffa.

Local Food

Asado Cordob\u00e9s — C\u00f3rdoba\u2019s version of the Argentine asado features cabrito (goat) alongside beef, chorizo, and morcilla. Best enjoyed at a quinta (country grill house) in the Sierras.

Lomito Cordob\u00e9s — A massive steak sandwich piled high with ham, cheese, egg, tomato, and mayo. Bigger and more over-the-top than Buenos Aires\u2019s version. A local institution.

Empanadas \u00c1rabes — C\u00f3rdoba has a significant Syrian-Lebanese community, and their sfijas and empanadas \u00e1rabes (open-faced meat pies with lemon) are a local speciality.

Alfajor Cordob\u00e9s — A multi-layered alfajor filled with dulce de leche and coated in white glaze. Larger and more elaborate than the standard Argentine alfajor.
