Doi Suthep — Chiang Mai's most sacred temple perched at 1,070 metres on Doi Suthep mountain. Climb 309 steps (or take the funicular) to reach the golden chedi, relics, and panoramic city views.

Local Food

Khao Soi — Chiang Mai's signature dish — egg noodles in a rich coconut curry broth topped with crispy fried noodles and served with pickled mustard greens, shallots, and lime. Deeply flavourful and comforting.

Sai Oua (Northern Sausage) — Fragrant grilled pork sausage packed with lemongrass, kaffir lime leaves, galangal, and chillies. A northern Thai speciality sold at markets and street stalls, often with sticky rice.

Kaeng Hang Lay — A Burmese-influenced pork belly curry slow-cooked with ginger, tamarind, peanuts, and warming spices. Rich, sweet, and savoury — one of northern Thailand's most distinctive curries.
