Grand Palace — The magnificent 218,000 sqm royal complex features the revered Wat Phra Kaew (Temple of the Emerald Buddha), ornate halls, and glittering spires. Dress code strictly enforced — long trousers and covered shoulders required.

Wat Arun — The iconic riverside temple adorned with colourful porcelain and seashell mosaics. Climb the steep central prang for panoramic views across the river to the Grand Palace. Spectacular when illuminated at night.

Chatuchak Weekend Market — Over 15,000 stalls spread across 35 acres selling everything from vintage clothing and antiques to street food and live plants. Open Saturday and Sunday, arrive early to beat the heat.

Khao San Road — The legendary 410-metre street buzzes with budget hostels, bars, street food vendors, tattoo parlours, and travellers from every corner of the globe. Best experienced after dark.

Chinatown (Yaowarat) — Bangkok's oldest neighbourhood comes alive at dusk with legendary street food — grilled seafood, bird's nest soup, and mango sticky rice. The ornate Chinese temples and gold shops add to the atmosphere.

Pad Thai — Thailand's iconic stir-fried rice noodle dish with prawns, tofu, bean sprouts, peanuts, and a tangy tamarind sauce. Best from street woks where the flames lick the pan.

Tom Yum Goong — The fiery, sour, and aromatic hot-and-sour prawn soup infused with lemongrass, galangal, kaffir lime leaves, and chillies. A quintessential Thai flavour bomb.

Som Tum — Spicy green papaya salad pounded in a mortar with chillies, lime, fish sauce, tomatoes, and peanuts. A refreshing, addictive side dish found at every street stall.

Mango Sticky Rice — Sweet glutinous rice topped with ripe mango slices and drizzled with warm coconut cream. Thailand's most beloved dessert, best during mango season (April-June).
